Governor Malloy is stepping into the mayor’s race in Hartford  and will endorse Mayor Pedro Segarra, sources have told Eyewitness News.   The two will appear at a news conference this afternoon at City Hall with fellow Democrat and mayoral candidate Shawn Wooden, who is expected to drop out of the race and throw his support behind Segarra.

That would leave two other Democrats in the race, Edwin Vargas and J. Stan McCauley.   The Republican candidate right now is 2003 nominee Mike McGarry.
