The race for the Republican nomination for lieutenant governor has been the most explosive of the primary races featuring accusations, negative ads, and apologies. With us this Sunday on Face the State, was State Representative Penny Bacchiochi, the GOP endorsed candidate who won the convention.
Bacchiochi created a hornet’s nest of controversy on the eve of the convention, when allegations were levied against fellow candidate Dave Walker. The Stafford Springs Republican later issued an apology, but the third candidate in the race isn’t letting it rest.
Last week on Face the State, Heather Somers brought up the episode, and questioned Bacchiochi’s character. Somers hit her on the same subject in a radio ad released this week.
I asked Bacchiochi about all this and another Somers split with Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton, something Bacchiochi said may give voters pause about Somers’ trustworthiness. You can see the entire interview that aired Sunday by clicking the link below.
