In the summer of 1996, a day after returning from covering the crash of TWA Flight 800, I was sent to Atlanta for more breaking news. Someone detonated a bomb at the Olympic Games.
The attack rattled athletes, organizers and spectators, including many who traveled from Connecticut. Photographer Andy Halpin and I were there for four days covering the developments and interviewing Nutmeggers whose dream vacation had been marred by the cowardly act of a lunatic.
In this Sunday’s Face the State flashback, you’ll see one of the many reports I filed from the Olympic Games, almost 18 years ago. Watch it right here: http://www.wfsb.com/video?autoStart=true&topVideoCatNo=default&clipId=9844059
