For the first time on television, the Republicans seeking the U.S. senate seat held by Joe Lieberman will debate this morning. This important forum comes less a month before the Republican State Convention in Hartford. It will be the second debate this week; the GOP candidates took part in a Norwich Bulletin debate Thursday.
The WFSB Face the State debate will feature all five GOP candidates: 2010 nominee Linda McMahon, former Congressman Christopher Shays, attorney Brian K. Hill, attorney Peter Lumaj, and attorney Kie Westby. I will moderate the debate, and the panelists asking the questions are Mark Pazniokas of the Connecticut Mirror, and Shelly Banjo of the Wall Street Journal.
You can watch the debate this morning at 11 on Channel 3, or via live stream on www.wfsb.com Viewers can also suggest questions on our website. Media interested in covering the debate should contact WFSB assignment manager Chris Collibee at chris.collibee@wfsb.com
Also on wfsb.com you can watch last week’s Face the State Democratic debate.
