Like any good car nerd I headed into Manhattan to catch the New York Auto Show. It’s full of glitz and gearheads as automakers show off their newest models under the glare of international at the Javits Center.
The unveilings are huge productions with lights, special effects and TelePrompTers. Journalists come in from all over the world to see the next hot thing in the automotive world.
Color is big in 2018, and a few industry folks told me the brighter the blue the better and that orange is becoming more mainstream. Good to hear because I’m getting a little tired of white and silver. Also matte finishes are apparently on the upswing.
The automakers pull out all the stops even bringing in baristas to serve freshly brewed coffee alongside their vehicles I went to the Maserati display for espresso because Italians make the best coffee don’t they? They make some pretty good cars, too. The unveiling of the Levante Trofeo was by far the slickest I saw today.
