We celebrated Kara’s birthday this past weekend, and brainstormed for some fun ideas. Kara told us she did not want to be tempted by more cake, after Better Connecticut producer Tracy Furey baked her an amazing chocolate cake just a day before. Using some fruit and jamming candles into strawberries, we came up with a personalized fruit tray thing.

For a present, our daughter wanted to execute a craft she “saw on the internet.” We stopped by Marshall’s and picked up some inexpensive pillows, and with some acrylic paint, handprints and a footprint, the kids created some pretty cool keepsakes.
