Car dealers across Connecticut and California based electric car maker Tesla are in a battle at the state capitol. Tesla wants to sell cars here, but wants an exemption from a state law that requires new vehicles to be sold at dealerships. Tesla sells directly to consumers, and the thousand or so people in our state who own Teslas bought them in another state.
If you are not familiar with Tesla, it is the red car above. The orange car is the Chevrolet Bolt, an electric car coming out in the fall.
Last week on Face the State we discussed the controversy with Landon Fulmer, who argued Tesla should comply with the law and open dealerships. This Sunday, we are joined by Tesla’s Will Nicholas for his side of the case.
