The woman who is arguably the state’s most popular politician will be spending this Mother’s Day with her children and grandchildren, but if her boss calls, she’ll be ready to go.
Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman is the most visible second in command in our state in recent memory, and is often at the side of Governor Malloy at news conferences, storm briefings and ribbon cuttings. She is also a frequent sight on the charity circuit, and will don her trademark heels and finery for the 10th annual Capital Catwalk on June 8th.
This Sunday on Face the State, Lt. Governor Wyman is our guest and during a wide ranging interview we talked about everything from taxes to Uber to her political future. She weighed in on the budget battle, women in politics and the Bridgeport mayoral race between Bill Finch and Joe Ganim. Who will she support?
Wyman also shared her passion for Hillary Clinton, although quickly answered that if any of her employees conducted government business on a private e-mail account like Clinton did, she’d fire them.
Tune in for the entire interview this Sunday morning at 11 for Face the State on WFSB Channel 3. Our flashback is also Mother’s Day related, regarding the women’s liberation movement of the 1970s.
