I was saddened to learn of the passing of actor Leonard Nimoy, who died today at age of 83. Mr. Spock, his iconic character from Star Trek will live forever on in re-runs and Netflix.

I never considered myself a “Trekkie,” but I actually dressed up as Spock three times in my life: twice in college and more recently at a fundraiser at the Connecticut Science Center. I put on pointed latex ears with spirit gum, put on some pale makeup, drew in some eyebrows and combed my hair straight and added some black hair spray from the party store and I was ready for the starship Enterprise.

Godspeed, Mr. Nimoy.
