McKinney on Foley, Malloy, Newtown, and Debates

With Tuesday’s primary looming, Republican candidate for governor John McKinney came in for a taping of Face the State that aired Sunday.

Joined by Daniela Altimari of the Hartford Courant and Mike Savino of the Journal Inquirer, we asked the state senator a variety of questions, including about breaking the so-called Reagan commandment, “though shall not talk ill of another Republican.” McKinney responded by saying he isn’t doing that in his new ad, only using words that came out of the mouth of his rival Tom Foley.

In addition we talked about taxes, jobs, Governor Malloy, Newtown, and whether independent candidates Jonathan Pelto and Joe Visconti should be included in debates should they make the ballot. McKinney said “yes.”
