Schiff on Blumenthal: His credibility will be a campaign issue

During a taping of “Face the State” Republican candidate for senate Peter Schiff did not hold back when it came to Richard Blumenthal.    The Weston businessman said Blumenthal is not trustworthy and intentionally lied, not misspoke when he said he was in Vietnam.

“He misspeaks about a lot of things.”  When you are a  professional politican and that’s what he has been all his life lying comes very natural.    Blumenthal’s credibility will be an issue in the campaign.”

And Schiff had more to say about  Blumenthal.    As for his Republican opponent Linda McMahon, Schiff was kinder, but not much.    He said “she was writing wrestling scripts, I was writing books about the economy,”   and suggested she had an apathy toward politics before her senate campaign was launched.    Schiff also said McMahon can’t beat Blumenthal and that many Simmons supporters will turn to him because “they don’t like Linda.”

You can watch the Schiff interview this Sunday morning at 11AM.  We also have Quinnipiac University polling guru Doug Schwartz in to talk about the new poll.

We can also tell you Blumenthal and McMahon have committed to be on “Face the State” next month.   Tune in Sunday for details.

  1. Schiff is the only choice for CT residents. Our country is on fire and needs candidates to be elected that will be honest with us and do the right thing for our country not for their personal benefit and I believe that Schiff is just that type of candidate…honest…we answers any question posed to him…no fluff just pure honesty which is refreshing!
He also understands the constituion, which is a big plus…given the massive expansion of the federal gov over the last 30+ years (by both parites)…someone that understands the constitution, from the Constituion State, would be perferct for DC.

Thank you for conducting this interview…perhaps you can host a debate w/ McMahn, Schiff and Simmons (since he’ll still be on the primary ticket).

  2. Good work Dennis! He should be questioned on this issue about telling the truth. If he would lie about his military service what else would he not tell the truth about?

I like Dick Blumenthal, but when you tell one lie to get into office, that lie will turn into another one and then another one, and more so when you are a big politican in the beltway becuase you will have to tell a lie to cover the lie that you just told in order to cover you butt.

  3. Schiff is just another businessperson, just like Linda McMahon and Ned Lamont, who, after spending a lifetime taking in millions of dollars, think they can buy a seat somewhere in government. Have you seen the Blumenthal polls?

  4. Gee? I think I would rather have someone with a lot of business sense in the Senate, then a career politician like bluementhol. But hey that’s just me.

  5. After seeing the segment with Peter Schiff I can say this: This guy has actual principles and speaks his mind. He doesn’t talk down to the voters! How refreshing! I’ll sign his primary petition!

  6. Schiff brings a strong message of fiscal discipline for Washington. People support his message when they hear it.
McMahon copies Schiff’s message and with the help of the establishment she is trying buy herself a seat. Let the people decide spread the Schiff message.

  7. This first part of the interview is great ! Is the second segment available on the internet ?
I hope Schiff will get the signatures to be on the ballot and that there will be a debate between him and Mcmahon.
