Connecticut Republicans Hoping for a Better Year in 2024

Campaign 2024 is upon us and Connecticut Republicans have their work cut out for them.   Democrats hold all the congressional seats, both U.S. senate seats and majorities in the state house of representatives and state senate.   Governor Lamont is a Democrat and the state’s constitutional offices are all held by Democrats.

Senator Chris Murphy is up for re-election this year but Republicans don’t have a candidate yet and they haven’t won a senate race since 1982 when Lowell Weicker was re-elected to a third term.   The state party chairman Ben Proto sat down with me and made one prediction:  that George Logan will be elected to congress.   He also talked about Donald Trump.   I invite you to watch what Proto had to say this Sunday morning at 10 on This Week in Connecticut on WTNH.

Last week we spoke to WTIC AM 1080’s Brian Shactman about this and you can see that interview here: https://www.wtnh.com/on-air/thisweekinconnecticut/connecticut-republicans-havent-won-a-u-s-senate-race-in-42-years/

Also on the program this Sunday, State Representative Corey Paris on getting young people into politics and we talk to Scott Dolch about the restaurant industry. A preview of that here: https://dennishouse.tv/2024/01/12/whats-your-favorite-connecticut-restaurant/

See you Sunday morning at 10 on WTNH.
