Connecticut has so many great places and Kara and I spent a night one of them this past weekend. We sneaked away to the awesome Saybrook Point Resort and Marina in the scenic coastal town of Old Saybrook, and had a great time. I had my first lobster roll of the season, hot of course, as we watched the sunset over Long Island Sound.
Next day we took the inn’s bikes and pedaled over the causeway and into Fenwick, where legendary actress Katharine Hepburn used to live. We also so dozens of swans. We’d never seen so many in one spot.
The getaway was short and sweet and we will definitely come back.
Also coming up Sunday May 22nd on This Week in Connecticut I take a look at the troubles facing the Hartford Courant with Daniela Altimari reporter, Alexa Philippou reporter, Neil Vigdor NY Times, Mike Stanton UConn journalism professor, Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Connecticut). Plus we visit the Camera Bar in Hartford open for 65 years! Richard and Aaron Goldenthal are thriving in the digital age.

Looks like a great place. We must do it also.

I hope Kara wasn’t on the cleanse then? What did she get to eat? 🤷🏻♀️

I love Saybrook Point. Used to go there on Sundays in the Summer & play mini golf and get ice cream and hot dogs. The kids loved it there when they were young. Great place.

How nice to ‘see’ you again. I hope you’re happy with your new positions and all is going well. BTW: the lobster looks yummy. Glad you both had a wonderful time.
