Denise used to tell me someday she wanted to run a foundation that would do noble work and help others. Her husband Wayne and daughter Kathryn created the Denise D’Ascenzo Foundation to carry on her legacy and they have done an amazing job. They put together a great board of directors, with a few more to be added, and I am honored to be the president.

The foundation got off to a great start earlier this year, but then the pandemic came and postponed any events we were thinking of having. Nevertheless, later in the year we donated $5000 to the Hartford Healthcare COVID-19 fund, and also gave checks to the Connecticut Food Bank, Foodshare and more recently, Mary’s Place.
