Summer means vacation for many, but for elected officials in Washington it often means hitting the streets of the district rather than the beaches. Truth be told, Senator Chris Murphy did spend some time off this summer with his wife and two young children, while balancing the needs of his constituents. This Sunday on Face the State, we got an update on what he’s been doing.
During a wide ranging interview, the Senator and I talked about Iran, Isis, buy American, Joe Ganim, Donald Trump, and Hillary Clinton. Murphy, who was one of the first to endorse Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton in 2008, is supporting Clinton this time around. I asked him about the e-mail controversy dragging down Clinton’s poll numbers, and what he would do if her situation worsens and if Vice-President Joe Biden enters the presidential race.
Also Sunday, our Face the State flashback takes us back 47 years ago, when one of Murphy’s predecessors was our Sunday morning guest on Channel 3: Connecticut Senator Thomas Dodd. Dodd was reacting to the big news that New York Senator Robert Kennedy was jumping into the 1968 race for the White House.

The Iran deal is very bad. Get rid of it. Support the second amendment for legal gun owners.

Funny how you guys fail to mention that Sanders is the *other* democrat running for president. Dennis mentions Sanders in the same sentence as Jeb, Rubio, and Walker as if he is a republican. At least Murphy openly admits he backs Clinton, but really WFSB?
