Governor Dannel Malloy and Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Foley appeared on Face the State today at WFSB-TV. The two were in separate segments of the program, and had a brief interaction as the governor exited the FTS studio. Channel 3’s Kim Lucey and Kate Rayner said the former ambassador to Ireland greeted his rival with a “Hello, Governor,” and the governor responded with a “how are you?” The two shook hands and Foley entered the studio.
As expected the two took swipes at each other during the live broadcast, which you can watch here: http://www.wfsb.com/category/213663/face-the-state
We focused on the campaign, and both Malloy and Foley downplayed some of their obstacles. The governor said a three way race with Jonathan Pelto, whom he called a “former Democrat,” would not hurt him and when asked about a primary with Mark Boughton and John McKinney, Foley said there might not be one. Watch and let us know what you think.
