It won’t be Blumenthal McMahon or Foley Malloy but the television ad wars are heating up in the race for the 5th District.   Congressman Chris Murphy has been running ads for weeks, and now Republican challenger Sam Caligiuri is about to hit the airwaves.

Buoyed by a recent poll that shows him ahead of Murphy,  Caliguiri  has purchased television ad time.   The poll by CT Capitol Report showed  Murphy trailing by 6 points.   The Murphy campaign says their internal poll shows the incumbent ahead by 14.   Last month the Caligiuri campaign said their internal poll showed the race to be a dead heat.
