Primary Night: An Opening for Oz? A Foley Wilson-Foley Ticket? A Malloy Lamont Nailbiter?

Tuesday promises to be one of the most exciting primary nights in recent Connecticut history.  The governor’s seat is wide open as is a senate seat.  On this week’s Face the State” we preview the primary and talk about what to expect.

We also talk with Republican candidate Lisa Wilson-Foley, one of four candidates for the state’s number two job.   Mark Boughton, Nancy Wyman, and Mary Glassman all appeared on “Face” over the past month.   Wilson-Foley is the only candidate without a running mate, and she explains why she sees that as a good thing.   I also asked her why she chose the lieutenant governor’s job for her first run for elective office.

Also on the program:  analysis from our WFSB political experts Duby McDowell and Brian Flaherty, and Tom Dudchik from www.ctcapitolreport.com

Duby explains how the new poll numbers could impact the tightening race between Dan Malloy and Ned Lamont.    Brian delves into why the Republican race is also tightening between Tom Foley and Michael Fedele, and Tom talks about what  a McMahon Blumenthal race could look like, if the former WWE CEO wins Tuesday’s primary.

We also talk about Oz Griebel’s climb in the polls.   He is still way behind in money and numbers, but Brian analyzes how there could be an opening for the candidate many believe has been winning the debates, and if he had cash for commercials he might be the frontrunner.      Brian points out that the latest QU poll found that 62% of Republican voters said they could change their minds when they go in the booth.

Tune in this Sunday at 11AM for “Face the State.”
