What a night! So much fun at the Connecticut Broadcasters Association Awards, sort of the prom of Constitution State media. I was honored and humbled to win best news anchor, which would not be possible without our amazing viewers. Congratulations to all the winners including:

My wife, my co-anchor for life Kara Sundlun who was inducted into the CBA Hall of Fame! I am so proud.

Also inducted on the television side, my co-anchor on the 6 o’clock news on WTNH, Ann Nyberg , co-chief meteorologist Joe Furey whom I had the honor of introducing, Klarn DePalma, senior vice-president with our parent company Nexstar Media. Three radio legends Ray Dunaway, Juan Castillo and Danny Lyons were also honored.

Our WTNH took home five awards!

best investigative piece: Kathryn Hauser, Nicole Warren and Adam Francis

best newscast team: Keith Kountz, Laura Hutchinson , Gil Simmons and Alyssa Taglia

best show: Capitol Report Tom Dudchik Jon Rosen & crew

Former news anchor and Hall of Famer Gerry Brooks did a great job as emcee along with CBA President Kristin Okesson of Connoisseur Media. As usual the crew at the Aqua Turf was outstanding.
