A Governor, Archbishop and a Sportscaster

A governor, an archbishop and a sportscaster. Throw in a former bartender and a trailblazer and that is that is our lineup for Sunday’s This Week in Connecticut.

What Will Connecticut Look Like in 2035?

Did you know Connecticut is the 7th fastest growing state in the nation?  That’s according to new figures that show our population will grew by more than 52 thousand people in a year.   Governor Lamont wants that growth to continue and says the downtown areas of cities and towns should be the focus.  He revealed his Connecticut 2035 plan during a conversation in his office at the capitol and you can learn all about it Sunday morning at 10 on WTNH.

Next Archbishop of Hartford Reveals Vision for Connecticut Catholics and  Message for the Pope

The Archbishop Coadjutor of Hartford Christopher Coyne will take over the Archdiocese of Hartford in the spring when Archbishop Leonard Blair retires.    In a candid conversation with me, Archbishop Coyne talked about his upbringing, his career as a bartender, the future of churches in our state, and his message for people who left the church, and women in the priesthood.   He also told me what he would tell Pope Francis if given the opportunity, Tune in Sunday to learn more.

I also saw Archbishop Coyne and Archbishop Leonard Blair at the Catholic Charities Help and Hope Breakfast at the Hartford Golf Club. The guest speaker was UConn Coach Dan Hurley. Conor Geary was the auctioneer.

ESPN’s Kevin  Negandhi is a Trailblazer Who Calls Connecticut home

Indian Americans are growing in numbers and gaining more influence in the United States.  Vice-President Kamala Harris is Indian American and so is Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley, who is surging in the polls.    The first Indian American sportscaster in the nation lives right here in Connecticut.  ESPN’s Kevin Negandhi sat down with me to talk about his journey.

I invite you to join me Sunday morning at 10 on WTNH for This Week in Connecticut.
