Lowell Weicker was a huge force in Connecticut politics for more than four decades. He was First Selectman of Greenwich, a state representative, congressman, U.S. Senator and governor. I interviewed him many times over the past 30 years and I’ll admit, he was intimidating when I was a 20 something reporter asking him a question.
Over the years our interviews became more of conversations and I always enjoyed talking with him. This Sunday on This Week in Connecticut and Capitol Report we will discuss Weicker in depth. We will hear from dignitaries and I’ll be joined by two Weicker friends and colleagues, Stan Twardy and Richard Palmer. See you Sunday at 10 on WTNH.
Also Sunday , Manchester Mayor Jay Moran.

I hated that SOB. I was not getting child support and was working 20 hours overtime to support my kids and pay off the Tax bills I was left with. Sometimes I pushed more than 20 hours in OT. He put in that effing Income Tax and it took half my OT in State Tax. The State of Ct. did nothing to force my ex to pay his Child Support but they grabbed my OT happily. I should have quit and gone on welfare. My State Income tax was more than my FEDERAL TAX at the end of the year. I moved to New Hampshire where I could breathe.
