Lamont Talks NHL Return to Hartford

It has been 26 years since the Connecticut lost its NHL team, the Hartford Whalers. Governor Lamont says the state is ready to welcome a team back.

It is a long way off and arguably a long shot, but the governor feels the timing could be good. The Arizona Coyotes are in need of fans and an arena and Connecticut has both.

Is the XL Center enough to lure a team? In an interview that aired unday morning at 10 on This Week in Connecticut with Dennis House on WTNH, the governor talked about renovations to the former Hartford Civic Center, his conversation with NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman and the ownership group he has in place to buy the team.

Also Sunday we talked with Ben Fuchs about the income tax, and West Hartford mothers Krista Wells and Nicole Moleti about how they became authors.
