Malloy and Lamont to Face Off in Final Debate

Last minute preparations are underway for the final debate between the candidates for governor.   Democrats Dan Malloy and Ned Lamont will face off Tuesday, followed by their Republican counterparts Tom Foley, Michael Fedele and Oz Griebel on Wednesday.

WNPR’s John Dankosky and I will moderate the debate using questions from viewers and listeners and questions we came up with.   Some questions we had to modify for the sake of brevity, and to avoid repetition.

The candidates will have two minutes to answer a question and then a minute to rebut their opponent’s answer.    They will each get to deliver a closing statement.

This is a debate tailored for radio and television.  There is a very small audience made up journalists, and guests and staff of the candidates.   It is as big an audience as our studios can accomodate.

As for the television and radio audience, here’s my take on that:  http://dennishouse.wordpress.com/2010/07/30/apathy-the-wild-card-in-campaign-10/

You can watch the debates Tuesday and Wednesday at 3PM on Channel 3, WFSB, and again at 8PM on CPTV.   You can listen to the debate at 3PM on WNPR.    It can also been seen on Eyewitness News Now and at a later date on CTN.

We hope you tune in.
