Electric Vehicle Experiment, Round Three

I took a break from the gas station a few months ago and went electric for a week. I had an all electric Cadillac Lyriq for a loaner and for seven days I had to rely on plugging in to drive. The only Lyriq I had seen before this was driven by Rob Lowe’s character Ellis Dragon on the show “Unstable.”

The car is awesome, and is a far cry from my dad’s Sedan de Ville. This new EV got plenty of looks especially at night when you start the car and are entertained by a glitzy light show. These pictures don’t do it justice. I posted a video on my Instagram page .

It was real nice to not have to pay for gas, but I suffered a few bouts of range anxiety. I don’t have a charger at home, and had to rely on charging stations, some of which were completely occupied and I am grateful for the charger we have at WTNH.

This is the third EV I’ve driven in the past decade and each time I drove one I noticed big improvements in technology and charging infrastructure. I’m not ready to take the electric leap just yet, but I’m willing to test another in the future.
