Calling All Brothers

It is always an honor to be invited to “Calling All Brothers,” an annual event created by Reverend A.J. Johnson eight years ago. Johnson invited men who live in Hartford to come cheer on children on their first day of school. Among those in attendance, Governor Ned Lamont, Mayor Luke Bronin, State Senator Doug McCrory, city activist and former educator Fred Phillips, insurance executive Drew Baker, former Hartford Police Chief Daryl K. Roberts, Hartford Public Schools Attorney Ed Wilson and many more.

  1. The School Roll Call was good seeing kids happy, dressed cute book bags etc. Other towns need to get involved doing this.
