Word that President Obama will visit New Britain on Wednesday inspired this Sunday’s Face the State Flashback. This weekend we go back in the Channel 3 archives to 2003, when President George W. Bush visited the Hardware City. At the time, the president was very popular with a 63% approval rating. Bush is the only American president born in Connecticut, but despite his native son status, he lost the state to Al Gore in 2000, and to John Kerry in 2004.
The report we aired Sunday was filed by John Moroney, now with New England Cable News. Watch it right here: http://www.wfsb.com/video?autoStart=true&topVideoCatNo=default&clipId=9899593
