21 years ago this winter I was covering a story in New Haven that attracted reporters from all over the nation. Film director Woody Allen and his estranged long time girlfriend Mia Farrow were meeting at Yale New Haven Hospital to hear the results of a special report that looked into Allen’s behavior with the couple’s adopted daughter Dylan, then 7 years old. There was talk of the eccentric filmmaker being arrested.
It was a twisted chapter in a soap opera that captivated the country. It all began when Allen, then 56 years old, admitted he was having a sexual relationship with another of Farrow’s adopted children, Soon-Yi Previn, who was 21. Allen had known Previn since she was 9. Farrow then accused Allen of sexually molesting Previn’s adoptive sister Dylan.
Doctors at Yale New Haven were told to investigate and determine if there was evidence the allegations were true. In this week’s Face the State flashback, you’ll see a clip from an Eyewitness News broadcast on March 18, 1993. It was a media circus, as these two stars showed up to learn what doctors had to say.
Twenty one years later, Allen and Previn are now married. Farrow still lives in Bridgewater, where she reportedly has a close relationship with son Ronan, the only biological child Allen and Farrow had together. According to reports, Ronan has called Allen immoral, and has ridiculed Allen’s familial status as both his father and brother-in-law.

Dennis,
Please try not to use natural to describe biological children. This creates a situation where adopted kids could read their relationship as “unnatural”
Thanks for your consideration.
