Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Jim Vicevich

Kara and I had the great honor of attending the wedding of an old friend, former WFSB business reporter and legendary WTIC AM 1080 radio talk show host Jim Vicevich. “Vice” married his longtime girlfriend, author Jana Kandlova, a Czech refugee who uses the name Jane Benson here in the United States.

The wedding at St. Catherine of Siena n Simsbury was followed by a reception at Rosedale Farms. Safe social distancing was practiced at both places. Among those who came to wish Jim and Jane well were former Hartford Whalers owner Richard Gordon and wife Dee, WTIC morning guy Ray Dunaway and Jim’s former boss Liz Godbout.

As you may know, Jim has battled Lupus for years, but on this day he was energetic and upbeat, and didn’t let this awful disease get him down.

Here’s an interview I did with Jim on his fight with Lupus:

Jane fled communist Czechoslovakia as a teenager. Here’s a link to her book, “Stalked by Socialism” https://www.amazon.com/Stalked-Socialism-Escapee-Communism-Sliding/dp/1663202389

  1. I don’t know if this is the right way to respond. But, I absolutely love Jim, would listen to him every day on the way to work and days I didn’t work either. He was wonderful, and still is.

Wonder all the time how he is doing, best wishes to a great guy and his new bride. Hope the “Sound Off” Lady was there too.

    Fondly, Lois Daly
