We’ve just learned that Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro will be attending the installation mass at the Vatican for the newly elected Pope Francis. On Sunday’s Face the State, the Archbishop of Hartford Henry Mansell had a message for her trip: he said the pro-choice congresswoman shouldn’t receive Holy Communion.
Mansell and the church are unwavering in their commitment to the unborn, and have said Catholic politicians who support the legalization of abortion should not go up in church to receive the sacrament.
During our taping the Archbishop called abortion a “grievous sin,” and said it is the policy of the Catholic church that those who support abortion should not receive communion. I asked Mansell if he would give communion to DeLauro and other Catholic politicians if they were in his church. I don’t make decisions at the altar rail…but I might speak of it later on.”

Mansell is from the Hartford Archdiocese. Nothing he says, or that comes from any so-called official from that peanut gallery should be even remotely construed as spiritual.
Cover up the molestations.
Annul marriages of couples married for almost 2 decades, based on the lies of one of the parties. Oh, yes, that couple was married 2 times in Holy Matrimony, once by judge!!!!!!

It is a terrible sacrilege to receive Communion in the state of mortal sin. He says he doesn’t make decisions at the altar rail, WELL… he should make is decision to not give any pro abortion politician Holy Communion NOW. If he recognizes them at the rail he should pass them on as his decision was made already. What good is possibly speaking to the person AFTER to sacrilege has been committed?
Do what is right, even if it is difficult.
If we had strong leaders in the Church we would not be in the mess we are in now. But then again, God gives us the leaders we deserve, we should pray for good leaders.

If you are pro abortion, why would you want to be part of any christian group, if you believe taking a life is in any way not a sin, then just leave the church.

I am pro life, but I do not agree with Archbishop Mansell.
Jesus associated with sinners for the express purpose of saving their souls. He compared his association with sinners to that of a physician associating with the sick saying, “They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance” (Mark 2:17). Again he said, “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10).
It is a Priest’s job to “try” and behave as Jesus would, not think in their own human terms to seek punishment or revenge for any sin man commits. It is obvious Jesus would NEVER deny communion to any sinner!
