Retiring U.S. Senator Joe Lieberman (I) CT says it is time for sweeping changes in the way the United States chooses its leaders. In an interview on “Face the State,” on WFSB-TV Hartford, Lieberman said he supports the elimination of the electoral college and supports term limits for his colleagues in the senate.
“My position on this has changed. Some say there are term limits for senators every six years and it is up to voters to decide. When I started here (24 years ago) I was 99th in seniority, and now I am 20th, so it does change, but needs to change more often…..I think it would make the senate less partisan and healthier if it turned over more often.”
Lieberman also said he was surprised there wasn’t a movement a decade ago to eliminate the electoral college. Lieberman was the vice-presidential candidate on the 2000 Democratic ticket that won the popular vote, but lost the electoral vote, and therefore, the election.

Dennis, I agree with Sen. Lieberman, we need limits so that new, younger people will bring fresh ideas to the Congress. I also agree that we need to just do away with the Electoral College. I have a hard time thinking my vote makes a difference when it doesn’t decide who I really voted for as president, just gives or doesn’t give “points” to a certain candidate…………..

Not only is Lieberman a hypocrite, he’s also a traitor to his party. In 2000 he was the Democrat’s VP candidate. In 2004 Lieberman was a featured speaker at the Republican National Convention. Few men in American history have been as traitorous. His legacy will be linked to Al Gore. In 2000 the Democrats offered America a lunatic and a traitor. In 2008 they did it again.
